Travel. Explore. Vacation.

We have been incredibly lucky to be able to travel to some very special places over the past few years, both within Europe and further afield. This is something which we plan to continue, especially given the struggles with getting out to explore the world following COVID restrictions.

So if you’d like to scratch that wanderlust itch, don your finest panama hat and check out the galleries below.

Cambodia

We did a twin centre in Cambodia of Siem Reap and Phnom Penh.

We visited ancient wonders such as Angkor Wat, which sat in an archeological site which is unfathomable in terms of it’s size a beauty. We learnt about history, both from centuries ago and the recent dark past.

Cambodia has forever touched our hearts as a travel destination, and there is still so much more for us to see! We will undoubtedly be back, although maybe next time not during the hot season!

Sri Lanka

We were in Sri Lanka at a time of great unrest. The currency had gone volatile and appeared to be on the verge of collapse. Petrol availability became scarce, and queues often had hundreds of bikes or tuktuks waitings at a time. Rolling blackouts meant many areas would go days without power. The Rajapaksa were on the verge of being overthrown.

Whilst we were discouraged from taking photos of the hard times and protests by our local guides, the trouble the country faced at the time only emphasised how beautiful the people were.

Bali

We hit very lucky with our timing to our visit to Bali. Things had started to fully reopen after COVID, but the tourist numbers were still only around half that of the pre-pandemic levels. This meant that a lot of the locations, especially in the more central region, were a lot quieter than we expected.

We did a twin location, with two thirds of our time in Ubud and the rest in Nusa Dua. I would go back to Ubud in a heartbeat, but probably pair it with more northern parts of the island. I have read the north is less travelled by tourists, and as a result is something I’d like to explore some day.
