Cretan Streets
Those who have followed me for a while (especially if you followed my now defunct photog.righ account that I can no longer access) will probably realise that I have a thing for old and weathered rural buildings.
So when we went on holiday this summer to the Greek island of Crete, knowing that we would be doing a lot of trips, I wanted to set myself a photo project of capturing the streets of the rural villages we went to on the island.
Most of the images below were captured from either a Happy Train excursion, of which we did two, or from a Safari Experts excursion, again we did two.
As much as it pained me to do so, I have tried to exclude none street images, so no beaches, no winerys. Not even a snap of Knossos.
I have included 4 or 5 images from Spinalonga, which are no longer streets since it was closed as a leper colony, but they used to be! Some may call that cheating, but they are pretty streets none the less so I thought I would include them.
As doing this as project with a purpose in mind has lead to slightly more images than I normally include on a blog post, I have just added them all as a gallery below. Scroll down to view as thumbnails, or click into an image to see them larger. The images are posted in chronological order, rather than in my normal order of talking through what I like or don’t like, but my favourite shots will undoubtedly make it onto my instagram account… Check it out at the button below.
